We offer top-notch training programs for thoroughbred and Arabian horses, specialising in flat gallop racing. Our experienced team is dedicated to ensuring that each horse receives tailored care and attention to maximise their performance potential. From breaking in and pre-training to race training, we utilise the latest technology and techniques to provide the highest level of performance.
Breaking
Our customised breaking program for young colts and fillies, specialised in flat or obstacle course racing, prioritises their mental and physical wellbeing. Our facilities, including a 900-meter sand track with obstacle hurdles and starting stalls, guarantee their proper acclimatisation.
Race training
Race training is an essential part of the process for horses to compete and excel in flat or obstacle course racing. Our race training program is specifically tailored to the individual needs of each horse. Our trainers take into consideration the horse's physical condition, temperament, and overall health when designing the training program.
We start by building a strong foundation with basic exercises such as galloping, trotting, and cantering. We gradually increase the horse's stamina and endurance through a variety of exercises, including hill work and interval training.
Our team constantly monitors and adjusts the horse's training program to ensure that they are making progress and are in optimal condition for race day.
Racing
Preparing horses for race day requires careful planning and logistics, as well as experienced handlers who are familiar with the horses' needs and behavior. It involves safe transportation of horses with proper bedding and feed, and sufficient time for acclimatization to the new environment. Prior to the race, a pre-race examination is conducted to ensure that the horses are fit to compete. They are saddled and warmed up before entering the starting gate.
During the race, jockeys need to strike a balance between speed and strategy, pacing their horse to conserve energy while remaining competitive. Trainers and handlers monitor the race from the sidelines, providing guidance and encouragement to the horse and jockey. After the race, horses are cooled down and assessed for injuries or fatigue, and provided with ample rest and recovery time before their next race

Ecurie Gernay uses a straightforward pricing system based on a flat rate per horse. Additionally, we provide optional supplementary services that enhance the overall wellbeing and performance of your horse.
